A. No, iCarsoft UK Diagnostic Tools are supplied with FREE LIFETIME Software Updates. Once you have purchased your iCarsoft UK Tool, you will not be charged in the future for any software (excluding the CR V3.0 where there is a charge to add additional manufacturers, over and above the 3 you allocate).
Q. How often do iCarsoft release Software Updates?
A. iCarsoft are extremely pro-active with their software development. The software is being expanded continually to improve capability and also to add new Makes & Models.
Q. Do I need to carry out a Software Update on the Diagnostic Tool once received?
A. All iCarsoft UK Diagnostic Tools from UK Parts Direct are updated for you prior to dispatch. This means the tool is ready to use, straight out of the box (excluding the iCarsoft CR V2.0 & CR V3.0 which are supplied blank to allow you to select the Manufacturer's of your choice).

A. This is not possible - if you feel that you will require additional manufacturers in the future - we would recommend looking at the CR V2.0 or CR V3.0 Tool. These tools are only very slightly more expensive but offer more Manufacturer Coverage.
Q. Why do aftermarket Diagnostic Tools generally not cover vehicles 3 years or newer?
A. Generally, aftermarket Diagnostic Tool coverage will start around 3 years after vehicle production date. This is because vehicle manufacturers will not release the data to the aftermarket whilst the vehicle is still under Warranty.
Q. Why are some Service Functions not available on some newer vehicles?
A. Certain Service Functions may not be supported due to requiring Special Main Dealer access or protected by Manufacturer Copyright. In addition, the introduction of OTA (Over the Air Diagnostics) for some newer vehicles means only the Main Dealer can carry out these functions over the Cloud (or Main Dealer supported Tools).
